Dinner just got more delicious thanks to these Pulled Pork Sliders! With barbecue sauce, pineapple, and pepperjack cheese, they’re perfect as an easy weeknight meal or game day snack.
My top tip is to be sure to add the pineapple for extra flavor! You’ll love the sweet and saucy sandwiches!
Aimee’s Recipe Notes
Taste and Texture- juicy pork flavored with pineapple, bbq sauce and spicy pepperjack cheese. The pork has a fork tender texture.
Ease- Using already cooked pulled pork makes this dinner ready in 30 minutes!
Tools- Use either a 13×9 or cookie sheet to assemble these sliders.
Top Tip- Line your pan with foil to make easy clean up!
Instead of honey baked ham and instant pot mashed potatoes these Pulled Pork Sliders are on the menu instead.
They’re just the right size to eat as dinner or a snack watching the game. Plus they’re satisfying without filling you up—which means there’s more room for Artichoke Jalapeno Dip.
Here’s What You Need
The full ingredient list is in the recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here are some highlights.
- Slider buns – Any kind you like. Hawaiian rolls are my go-to, but pretzel rolls work as well.
- Cooked pulled pork – You can use homemade or store-bought for a shortcut. Leftover Root Beer Pulled Pork or Instant Pot Hawaiian Pulled Pork are delicious here.
- Barbecue sauce – Use your favorite!
- Canned, sliced pineapple – This might just be my favorite part! I love the sweetness they add.
- Red onion – Slice this very thinly. You want it to add flavor and a little bit of texture, but not so much that you’re distracted by the crunch.
- Pepperjack cheese – This adds a little bit of kick and lots of melty goodness! It also helps hold the sliders together.
- Sweet-and-savory glaze – A mixture of butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, and light brown sugar makes the buns mouthwateringly delicious.
- Sesame seeds – For sprinkling on top of the slider buns.
How to Make Pulled Pork Sliders
Assemble Pork Layer:
- Brush one-third of the melted butter onto the cut side of the bottom half of the slider buns.
- Stir together the pulled pork and barbecue sauce, then spread the pulled pork onto the buns.
Add the Remaining Layers:
- Layer the pineapple over the pork, followed by the onions.
- Add the pepperjack cheese. Place the top half of the slider rolls on top.
Make the Topping.
- Whisk the rest of the butter with the glaze ingredients and drizzle the mixture over the buns, reserving just a bit.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Bake and Finish:
- Tent the sliders loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for 5 to 10 minutes more, or until the cheese has melted and the buns are toasty.
- Brush the remaining butter over the tops.
- Transfer to a cutting board and slice into individual sliders.
Tips and Tricks
- If you prefer coleslaw, you can skip the layer of pineapple and pile on a scoop of homemade coleslaw after baking.
- You can also add pickle slices either instead of or in addition to the pineapple if you like them.
- I prefer my buns crispier, so I bake mine for about 20 minutes. If you’d like them softer, 15 minutes might be perfect!
- This is a recipe that’s easy to customize to your own tastes and preferences. Feel free to switch up the cheese and other toppings!

Ingredients
- 12 slider buns
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cups cooked pulled pork
- ¾ cup barbeque sauce, use your favorite
- 8 ounce canned, sliced pineapple, drained, cut in fourths
- ¼ medium red onion, sliced thin
- 6 slices Pepperjack Cheese
- 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 2 teaspoons light brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a rimmed cookie sheet with a piece of foil or parchment paper and set it aside.
- With a serrated knife, slice slider buns in half horizontally, cutting evenly and keeping the rolls connected. Once separated, there should be a large bottom "bun" and a large top "bun." Set the top bun aside while you assemble.
- Place the bottom bun on the parchment paper lined baking sheet, cut side up. Brush about 1/3 of the melted butter onto the bottom bun, cut side.
- In a small bowl, combine the pulled pork with the barbecue sauce. Spoon the pulled pork onto with sauce onto the bottom bun. Add the pinecapple pieces on top of the pork.
- Add thinly sliced onion and top with slices of cheese. Put the top bun on top of the cheese layer.
- To the remaining melted butter, whisk in worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, and brown sugar. Drizzle nearly all the butter on top of the buns (leaving just a small bit in the bowl). Sprinkle the buns with sesame seeds.
- Place a piece of foil loosely over the top of the buns. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 5-10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and brush on the remaining butter. Lift buns off baking sheet with a large spatula under the foil or parchment paper and place on a cutting board. Cut sandwiches into individual sliders and serve hot!
Notes
- Use any variety slider buns you love. I prefer Hawaiian sweet rolls, but the pretzel sliders are delicious too!
- You’ll need about 1 pound of cooked, pulled pork. You can either buy store bought, already cooked pork, or try one of my recipes! Root Beer pulled pork, Kalua Pulled pork, or Instant Pot pulled pork are great! This is a great recipe to use leftover meat.
- If you prefer coleslaw, you can skip the layer of pineapple and pile on a scoop of coleslaw after baking.
- I prefer my buns crispier than soft, so I bake mine closer to the 20 minute mark. However my kids prefer the buns soft, so you decide how you like them!
- Store leftover sliders in refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in microwave or air fryer until warm.
