Ingredient Notes
Here’s what we used to make this Cranberry Ginger Ale Punch.
- Cranberry juice – I recommend the 100% juice variety, not cranberry cocktail blends.
- Ginger ale – Ginger beer could be used for a stronger ginger taste. Save a few bottles of ginger beer for our strawberry moscow mules!
- Fresh cranberries – For even more cranberry flavor and a beautiful presentation.
- Lime wedges – Gives this punch an extra zesty kick.
- Alcohol (optional) – Vodka and rum both taste great here for a boozy option.
In a large pitcher, you add the juice and the ginger ale. No need to stir. Toss in your sliced limes and fresh cranberries and it’s ready to serve. Told you it was easy to make!
Tips and Tricks
- Adding alcohol: I recommend adding 1 – 2 ounces of vodka or rum per serving of this punch, depending on how strong you want it.
- Serving: I like to leave the pitcher on the bar or serving table at a holiday party. Put bottles of vodka or rum nearby so each guest can add their own alcohol, if desired.
- Garnishes: Place an additional lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Or slide a few of these sugared cranberries on a toothpick to garnish your punch!
- Keep it cold: Freeze cranberry juice in your ice cube trays to add to the punch instead of normal ice. Or freeze your fresh cranberries! Both options will keep your punch nice and cold, without watering it down.
Recipe FAQs
For the recipe quantities below, I would add about 12 ounces of vodka or rum. That’s the equivalent of one ounce per serving.
You’re welcome to adjust according to your taste (and tolerance!).
Of course! When I serve this in a punch bowl, I like to add a fruity ice ring to keep it cold.
To make an ice ring: fill a JELL-O mold with water, plus a few cranberries and lime wedges. Freeze. Pop the ice ring out into the bottom of the punch bowl and pour the punch on top. It’s such a festive way to serve the cranberry ginger ale punch.
To reduce the sugar content, use a light cranberry juice and substitute diet ginger ale.
I suggest white rum for today’s punch!
This isn’t a good punch for making in advance. The ginger ale will go flat if it’s not served pretty quickly.
The good news is it takes just a minute to toss together!
